An agent position in the industry of call center answering services may not be as easy as many people may think. There are five common factors BPO companies look for in an individual they would be interested in hiring. First is the educational attainment. Most companies prefer college graduates although there are some that accepts undergraduates provided they attained a certain number of subject units. Second is the language orientation. Generally, BPO companies seek for individuals who speak good English although some companies provide bi-lingual services thus may require other languages such as German, Spanish, Italian and Chinese mandarin. Third, is the willingness to work on shifting schedule. Call center companies have the tendency to have high demands in agents working on the night shift as large volume of calls occur during this shift schedule. Fourth, is having basic computer skills such as typing speed and accuracy, and knowledge in the internet and knowledge in computer operations. The fifth is the soft skills such as conversational tone, attentive listening skills, patience, problem solving skills and effective communications skills.
